Urban Pop Ups runs markets in Perth and The Urban Souq, a directory of halal and Muslim-owned businesses. This page says what we collect on this website, why, who holds it, and how to ask us to change or remove it.
What we collect, and why
- A stall application: your name, business name, email address, phone number, ABN, what you sell, your logo and photos, and for a food stall your council permit, your public and product liability policy and the declarations the form asks for. We use these to decide on your application and to run the market day.
- A Souq listing request: your name, business name, email address, phone number, what you sell, whether you work from home, your logo and photos, and your website and Instagram. If approved, the business details you chose to make public appear on your listing; your name, phone number and email do not, unless you ask us to show them.
- A vendor account: your email address and a password, so you can see your applications and your listing. Sign-in is provided by Neon Auth; we never see your password.
- A message through the contact form: your name, email address and what you wrote, so we can reply.
- Payments: a stall fee, or the yearly Souq fee, is paid through Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and are never entered on, or stored by, this website. We keep only Stripe’s reference numbers for the payment, so we can match it to your listing or stall and find the receipt.
- Clicks on Souq listings: when you follow a link from a listing to a business’s website or Instagram, we count the click, without recording who you are, so the business can see its listing is working.
Who holds it
Your details are stored in our website’s database, hosted by Neon in Sydney, Australia. Emails we send you go through Resend; the code that signs you in is sent by Neon. Payments are handled by Stripe, whose own privacy policy applies to what you give them. The map on an event page is Google’s, and loading it tells Google your browser is on our site, as any embedded map does. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Cookies
The website sets one cookie of its own, to keep you signed in to your vendor page. It sets no analytics or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Applications and listing requests are kept as a record of who has applied to and traded with us. A Souq listing stays on the site while it is paid for — the first month is free, then $96 a year — and comes off the site when it is not renewed; the record of it stays so it can be brought back. Contact messages are kept until we no longer need them.
Your choices
Ask us to see, correct or remove what we hold about you, or to take your listing down, by writing to urbanpopups786@gmail.com. We will answer within a reasonable time. You can also change your business details by applying again with the same email address, or ask us to change them for you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with the date it was reviewed.
